About the Program and Facilitator:
Dianne has provided psychotherapy and support services with individuals and families from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. She holds an MS Ed degree specializing in counselling. Dianne was a caregiver for her mother-in-law who had dementia and she is currently in the caregiving role with her own mom. Dianne’s role will be a peer support facilitator; She will facilitate the group as a peer and share her journey with you. Some topics that will be covered in the group are: resilience, setting boundaries, making time for yourself, reflecting on your needs, and available supports and resources. Please join us for 4 weeks (optional for 2 additional weeks) to share and/or process your caregiving experience, to receive support and a boost in mood and optimism.
Please Note:
The event details show that the workshops take place on January 11 and 18, but this is a 4 week series (every Wednesday from January 11 to February 1 at 2pm). Participants must, however, join by January 18th. Please only sign up for January 11th or January 18th (not both); signing up for one of these dates signs you up for all 4 sessions. This group may also be extended to 6 weeks, depending on the group’s interest.
This group will be in person unless there is inclement weather, in which case it will be switched to virtual. Lindsey will send out an email with a zoom link the day of the group if there is inclement weather.
