Daniela Steyn

“Dr. Daniela Steyn is a distinguished figure in the Halton community, known not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her remarkable ability to balance a thriving career with a fulfilling family life. As a prominent advocate for women’s health and wellness, Dr. Steyn brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the Day of the Girl event. She is the author of the international best-seller, “Thrive Through Menopause,” a book that has empowered countless women worldwide to navigate this transformative phase of life with grace and vitality. Based in Oakville, Ontario, Dr. Steyn serves as a dedicated Family Physician, tirelessly working to provide top-quality healthcare to her patients. She is deeply committed to improving the lives of those she cares for and has earned a reputation for her compassionate approach to medicine. In addition, Dr. Steyn is the visionary founder and CEO of Wellness MD, a Wellness clinic dedicated to promoting holistic health and well-being. Through Dr. Steyn’s leadership, Wellness MD has become a beacon of wellness in our community, inspiring individuals to live their best lives.”

Jill Carlyle

Jill Carlyle lives her life with compassion and authenticity, and advocates for equity and understanding. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Child and Family Development. In her professional realm, she has been a director of a crisis network in Peel region, and a manager of outpatient services at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital. Jill’s work has particularly focused on supporting children and families facing neurodiversity and mental health struggles. Upon having her first child, Jill’s clinical knowledge proved particularly valuable in early recognition of her son’s developmental delays. Her son was later diagnosed with autism, learning disabilities, and anxiety. Upon having two more incredible sons, one of whom also has autism, Jill chose to step back from her career so that she could better support her family. She now spends her days coordinating life for her busy family of five, part-time homeschooling her eldest son, advocating for and on behalf of anyone who needs it, and running the council at her children’s elementary school.
