Emotional Resilience has 3 main components:
1. Calming the Nervous System
Techniques such as breathing, mindfulness exercises, tapping and meditation. It’s my intention to give them actual tools that they can put in their toolbox to carry with them outside of the classroom. Many of these can be taught in a fun and creative way.
2. Emotions 101
“Emotions shouldn’t drive the car but shouldn’t be stuffed in the trunk either”. How to process emotions. Where do we feel them in our body and how to release them.
3. Self-compassion
How to love ourselves when we are hurting and going through a hard time. Are we talking to ourselves the way we would talk to a friend in a hard time? Some lovely exercises for this in particular.
