Meet Giselle

My Karate journey began at the age of. 9. I can remember feeling terrified as I entered a room full of men. The first 4 months I made it a point to hide from my Sensei so I would never be called on for demonstration. Until I realized I was good at it. I became a yellow belt quite quickly, but was halted in my journey for 4 years because I am a woman. I had to work ten times harder than everyone else, had to be stronger, and faster than the men who have been training for years before me. Some longer than I had been alive. I did just that.

I achieved my first Black Belt in 2011. My now late Sensei Burt Konzak was and still is my inspiration and why I continue to carry on his legacy of the delicate teachings of Karate. The passion he had for women in the Dojo, and his passion for the Dojo he had created. I was then given my 2nd Black Belt in 2015 from my current Sensei.

I have competed in multiple competitions and tournaments, bringing home 1st place in the weapons category for two years running!

I currently teach all ages the beautiful art of Karate, and look forward to sharing my knowledge with many more!

It’s not how hard you can hit; it’s how hard you can get hit and keep on going.” Rocky Balboa
