Board of Directors Volunteers Needed
The Women’s Centre of the Halton Region, located in the South Oakville Centre (formerly Hopedale Mall), is a community based, non-profit organization committed to making a positive difference in the lives of women in transition, crisis or distress. Based on the self-help model of “women helping women”, the Centre offers an array of services to empower and meet the needs of all women regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.
The organization is seeking to expand board positions with enthusiastic individuals who have an affinity for women’s issues. Preference will be given to women candidates with a professional designation in Marketing, and/or Fundraising. Experience on a board, volunteering or fundraising is an asset.
A Nominating Committee will review applications and the recommendations will be submitted to the Board of Directors and Membership for approval. Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday evening each month with additional participation on Board committee meetings. Two-year term commences October 2018.
